Što je TED, odnosno TEDx?
TED je neprofitna organizacija predana promoviranju ideja koje su vrijedne širenja. Sve je krenulo 1984. godine kao konferencija čiji je cilj zbližiti ljude iz svijeta tehnologije, zabave i dizajna (otuda i naziv TED: Technology, Entertainment, Design). Od 1990. godine konferencije se održavaju redovito u više formata. S vremenom se i spektar interesa TED-a proširio na gotove sve sfere života, promovirajući ideje vrijedne širenja.
Od govornika koji sudjeluju na konferencijama se očekuje da prezentiraju svoje misli i ideje na što inovativniji i zanimljiviji način. TED je tako tijekom godina okupio neke od najvećih mislilaca svijeta, koji su najčešće kroz svoje životne priče podijelili misli i ideje. Glavna misao vodilja pritom je da ideje mogu promijeniti svijet. Između ostalih na TED konferencijama sudjelovali su i Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Gordon Brown, Bill Gates, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Steve Jobs i mnogi drugi.
Od 2009. TED je započeo s davanjem licence trećim stranama za organiziranje samostalnih tzv. TEDx događaja. TEDx program je stvoren da daje zajednicama, organizacijama te pojedincima priliku da stimuliraju dijalog kroz događaje u TED stilu na lokalnoj razini. TEDx događaji su u potpunosti planirani i koordinirati samostalno od strane najrazličitijih zajednica.
TEDxSvetiIvanZelina je događaj koji će biti organiziran po načelima TED organizacije, pod TEDx licencom koja nam je dodijeljena za potrebe našeg eventa. Brojimo na našim eventima preko 40 govornika, između kojih su bili Tin Sedlar, Stjepan Ursa, Izidor Pelajić, Siniša Antun Petrović, Hrvoje Košćec, Tanja Madžarac i drugi.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDx[name], where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDx[name] event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

About TED
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, often in the form of short talks delivered by leading thinkers and doers. Many of these talks are given at TED Conferences, intimate TED Salons and thousands of independently organised TEDx events around the world. Videos of these talks are made available, free, on TED.com and other platforms. Audio versions of TED Talks are published to TED Talks Daily, available on all podcast platforms.
